CURADOR is a quarterly magazine that invites artists to curate every new volume of the publication. It´s structure is divided in three sections. The first one includes texts by thinkers that reflect on the subject of each new issue. The second part is dedicated entirely to the work of the Guest Editor, and includes an extensive interview and a selection of his works. The third section features a group of artists´ works selected by the Guest Editor that are related with the proposed subject of the current issue.
The current issue is entitled US and is guest-edited by Iñaki Domingo. The issue raises the question of what means to be an artist nowadays, that for him has to do with the idea of an individual that is part of a network, and uses these connections to develop his work.
Iñaki Domingo wrote regarding this issue: “The works collected here belong to people who are part of my close circle of friends and acquaintances. Not all of them are artists, at least not in the strictest sense of the word, although all of them, in one way or another, are closely related to the world of artistic creation. With all of them I have shared and debated ideas and common concerns, but most importantly we have learnt many things together, and I have reasons to deeply admire and respect each and every one of them.
The relationships we have cultivated throughout the years have contributed to the building of my personality as an artist. This is why I thought a good way to thank them for the time and knowledge we have shared could be that of publishing their personal approaches to the idea of network, which is so exhaustively treated in this issue of CURADOR. So let the following pages be a tribute to all of them, and also to those who should appear here but are not due to the space limitation in the publication”.
